June Walt Disney World Trip at Grand Floridian 2 Bedroom Villa
We had a fantastic week at Walt Disney World with our extended family. We did a few things we haven’t done at Disney before (I tell you guys all the time even we haven’t done it all) and did a few things we haven’t done in a long time.
The first mission of the trip was to find these ears the kids are wearing. They wanted to look in every store we passed as they wanted to look in for the Scarlet Witch Ears. They sell out typically in minutes of being put out. We looked all week and were about to go back to our resort on the last night. Olivia asked to check one more time and BAM. There were about 10 ears sitting there.
So what do you do after you get your ears? You go have a photo shoot in front of the castle of course.
This trip since there were 8 of us and we were going to be taking it easy, we decided to stay in a 2 bedroom villa. This gives us a chance to make breakfast and dinner if we want. It is also nice to wash our clothes before heading home.
We decided on the Grand Floridian as most in our party had never stayed there before and BOY did it deliver.
First we have to talk about the tub pictured above. The tub was everyone’s favorite. It even had air bubbles to help in the relaxation. This picture doesn’t do it justice. This was a soaking tub. It was the perfect way to end the day after walking around the parks.
There were two stand alone showers (one that was big enough for at least 5 people to fit in) and a tub/shower combination. These were each in their own room and 4 people could bath/shower all at once if needed.
We also had a king bed, two queen beds, a pull down double bed and a pull down twin bed. More than enough room for us all.
The service we experienced while we were at the resort is what we always refer to as the Disney difference. We had an issue with Disney IT and the front desk staff went above and beyond to fix the issue for us.
Upstairs in the lobby area, there is a photographer waiting to take pictures throughout the day. Our group enjoyed stopping here and capturing moments all week.
Having extra space in the room meant there was space to do things during our down time. We didn’t feel the need to always be in the parks because it was just too hot to be. We enjoyed playing some Uno Flip or swimming at the pool too.
We also spent a day at Typhoon Lagoon (one of two Disney water parks). We have visited the park before, but most of those with us had not.
The wave pool was a family favorite as well as the raft rides that hold 4 people. We enjoyed floating in the lazy river, jumping over MONSTER waves, and sliding all day.
Typhoon Lagoon is known for its wave pool as Disney has taught surfing lessons in the pool. The waves are strong and HUGE.
Even knowing this, I took Rowan, my nephew (who is 3), out to the middle where Avery and Caden, my older nephew, were because Rowan wanted to be with the big boys. I knew better, but when the wave got to us, all I could do was throw him as hard and as high as I could. He came up laughing. Me, not so much. And we were only 4 feet deep.
If you have never been to a water park in Orlando, we highly suggest it. They are a lot of fun.
We even made sure to have some frozen treat while we were there too.
We were able to ride the newest ride at Walt Disney World: Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind.
This is unlike any other rollercoaster we have ridden before. I did ride it and enjoyed it, but it is not for those with motion sickness.
It is one that I am very glad I rode and will probably try again in the future.
This was also the first time that most of the group was able to ride Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure in EPCOT. This is one ride that I love going on time and time again.
Every time I think we stay at Disney long enough, I’m still dreaming of heading back the second we are gone. There is something about being away from reality and enjoying the moment.
We try to take those moments at home too, but on vacation, there are so many of them. Where do you want to make those moments at this year?
